Eleanor of Aquitaine weds Henry II of England

On this date in our family history . . . the 18th day of May, which was Whitsunday in the year 1152 . . . a recently divorced Eleanor of Aquitaine marries Henry II of England at the Bordeaux Cathedral in Aquitaine, France . . . the future King of England is only 19 years of age, and the wedding is "without the pomp or ceremony that befitted their rank" . . . this Eleanor and Henry are believed to be 22nd great-grandparents of our Josephine Wingfield Henry nee Davis (1842-1899) . . . who is a 2nd great-grandma to the Keeper of this family history timeline . . .
