Wordless Wednesday --- but this picture speaks a million words, stories untold and stories unlived.

This is a beautiful picture of a beautiful woman, and so beautifully presented, too!

I want to learn how to do that!!

Is this a graduation photo? Was she a bit sad, she looks a bit sad? Was she pining for a boyfriend? Sad school was over? Or did the photographer just tell her to look serious? So many questions...

Ah, tis nice when I can sit back and be wordless about my beautiful grandmother, and yet have others put my sentiments into words. This lovely face belongs to my Mom's Mother -- Elizabeth Marilla Henry nee Smith. Mom was only 3 days old when Elizabeth died at the age of 19. This autographed photo is dated 1929, which is the year Elizabeth married Robert E. Henry (1905-1976). Since he was in the Navy, I tend to believe this photo was taken for him, and probably around the time of their July marriage. This particular photo was sent back to Texas (from Massachusetts) for Robert's baby sister, who was the same age as Elizabeth. A version of our Elizabeth's story will be told in the February issue of Shades the Magazine -- due out this coming weekend. Look for the Captured Moments column. And thank y'all for stopping by and visiting with me and my kith 'n kin. {hugs} from Texas. V.

Ok you know me always with the questions - What font did you use to make Elizabeth's name - it's just beautiful! As usual I love your work! Can't wait to read the story about her in the Shades!

Good to "see you" today, Terri. That's definitely one of my favorite fonts -- Copper Alt Caps Expert -- a free download found various places on the internet. I just Googled it as > "Cooper Alt Caps Expert" free < and found several sources. V.
