This collage was prepared for the 95th edition of the Carnival of Genealogy . . . which is another delightful Swimsuit Edition . . . and since fM's poster features a male, I chose a ca. 1929 photo of my maternal Grandpa . . . Robert E. Henry, Sr. (1905-1976) . . . who married his first wife (my Grandma) in July of 1929 . . . and they honeymooned at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire . . . for more swimsuit photos of this family from the same time period, see my COG / Swimsuit Edition for 2009 . . .

Great photograph and postcard. Do you create your scrapbook pages digitally or with paper and scan them. Nice post.
I agree...your grandfather is a very good looking man. I have no idea if either of my grandparents even took a honeymoon. It's a nice piece of your family history to have that information.

We are so very lucky to have the stories we have about Grandpa and his 1st wife, Elizabeth (my grandma) . . . she died 3 days after giving birth to my Mom . . . and Grandpa did NOT like to talk about that sad part of his life.
Some of the stories came from Elizabeth's childhood friend, Diantha, after Mom found her ca. 1980. She's the one who told us about the honeymoon . . . they went to Alton Bay, where Elizabeth's Mother supposedly had a cottage.

Nancy, this particular collage is actually a combination of techniques . . . part of the background was done by laying out the individual pieces on the scanner bed and scanning them as one single image . . . and then I added borders to that image . . . and then created a collage with the photo and the postcard, using the bordered image . . . more details for how I did the background are available in the February 2010 issue of Shades . . . click on the DIY Collages tab near the top of this page for a link to that article . . .
Oh my a good looking guy post. Can see how he won your grandmother over. ;) And we are treated to information on how to do the collage too. You are a wonderful teacher. Thanks for sharing your family too.
