Tombstone Tuesday :: Springtime in Texas

I took these photos in the Hugh Wilson Cemetery in Tanglewood, Lee County, Texas. The wildflowers are bluebonnets and wild phlox, and indian paintbrush in the inset photo. The tombstones mark the burial sites of my 2nd great-grandparents, Joseph Helidorah NETTLES (1832-1890) and Mary Annie "Mollie" Nettles nee WEST (1852-1939). It was 177 years ago yesterday -- 23rd March 1832 -- when Joseph was born in Alabama.

I love how you have shown the beautiful spring flowers in the cemetery with the photograph of the tombstone.

Spring time flowers to me are a sign of hope.

Janet and Amy -- thank y'all for stopping by for a visit, and for taking the time to leave your comments. I love visiting my kith 'n kin in this cemetery in the spring of the year. In the past, there have even been dewberries ripe for the picking along some of the fencelines, but I think the caretakers have finally killed off all those vines. Thanks again. Vickie in Texas
